It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
The CP Holiday Train is rolling through downtown Regina tomorrow (December 5th)! The festively lit train is stopping at Mosaic Stadium at 5:45 for a short concert. It’s the 17th edition of the Holiday Train, and I, along with my hubby and daughter, saw the train yesterday so that we could tell you all about it before the show tonight.

Food Bank Fundraiser
Since 1999, the Holiday Train has raised more than $12,000,000 and 3.9 million pounds of food for local food banks. So you can watch a fantastic show and give to those less fortunate – it’s a win/win! There were volunteers at both stops taking food and cash donations, so clean out your pantry and support a good cause. And all food and money raised in Saskatchewan, stays in Saskatchewan.
Dallas Smith and the Odds
The Holiday Train always attracts some fantastic talent to play at their stops. This year it’s Canada’s own Dallas Smith, who played not only some of his hits (like one of my all time favorites, Autograph, woo hoo!), but also some Christmas jingles. Dallas is a great entertainer, even in the cold Saskatchewan evening. He bantered with the audience and even took a few selfies with his fans. The 90’s group, the Odds opened up for Dallas and played some Christmas carols. All of the entertainment was as fantastic as the train.
A Day Trip to Wolseley and Ellisboro
I was busy taking pics so I did not get very close to the show – but I heard it just fine and it was fantastic!
My family used a little sleuthing and found out that we could see the Holiday Train to the east of Regina on Sunday, so we headed to Indian Head. The show was fantastic, and we then followed the train to Qu’Appelle, where we were treated to another show. There’s nothing like a brightly lit train and Christmas carols sung by a hot guy to put you in the Christmas spirit. Plus I was able to take a few pics so you can see exactly how festive it is.
Check out the CP Holiday Train
The CP Holiday Train is pulling into Mosaic Stadium (or the tracks by Mosaic Stadium) tonight at 5:45. Don’t forget the price of admission is a donation to the Regina Food Bank. Dress warmer than you think you are going to have to. I wore 2 pairs of pants, big winter boots, a down jacket, toque and mitts, and I was still freezing by the end of the show. I realize that all of my pics are of the same angle, so I guess I have to see it next year to see if I can get a different shot!
Now I have to figure out how to hitch a ride on the Holiday Train…
